2024 Presidential Election Historical Diary – Trump Supporters

With the 2024 Presidential election now past us, perhaps this might be a good time to document the thoughts and feelings of regular ordinary citizens. This week, we feature supporters of Donald Trump, as represented by a long-time Trump enthusiast. What did he think of the events of the last five months? We again use the roundtable discussion for this week’s show. Matt Fritz, owner of Fritz’s Patriot Place in Mendon, NY, joins the roundtable. His store features all sorts of Trump merchandise. He first began supporting Trump in 2015 during the Republican primary and has backed him ever since. In the first half of the show, Fritz tells the harrowing first-hand account of his experience in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021. His never-before-recorded tale gives you a sense of what really happened, including how he obtained inside information as events unfolded. While he left without entering the Capitol Building, he reveals how he received a visit from the FBI on a cold winter night because he was present at the January 6th protest.

In the second half of the show, Fritz explains how he felt as the 2024 campaign progressed from immediately before the Trump-Biden debate in June through the end of the night/early morning after the polls closed on Election Day. Along the way, he tells us where he was when he found out Trump was shot in the first assassination attempt, why he thought there was a second attempt, and how confidence in an upcoming landslide never waned. He ends with his ideas on why Trump, and perhaps America, are better off because Trump did not serve two consecutive campaigns.
