This week’s episode featured the nationally renown Comedy Center in Jamestown, New York.
Executive Director Journey Gunderson tells us of the roots of this showcase of America’s laugh track and Lucille Ball’s role in it. She also allows us to take a peak at the festivities and exhibits featuring the Carl Reiner (one of the founding directors of the Center) exhibit that just opened, including a clip from his son Rob telling an interesting insider story from the early years of television just before the ribbon cutting.
In the show’s second half, Gunderson gave us a look at the new Johnny Carson exhibit and a bit of the back story there. She finished with a short trip around the museum, highlighting the interactive exhibits that give you a chance to discover your own personal comedy profile. (Yes, the Center has the technology to do that.) Oh, one more thing: Do you know the Lucy & Desi Museum is right around the corner? They oversee that, too.
Our guest happily answered questions from the live audience. In fact, these are probably some of the same questions you had.
