Erie Hall Haunting at Geneseo unleashed whispers and apparitions in 1985, earning “Ghost Boy” his Netflix debut. What eerie secrets linger? Click below for this Halloween episode of The State of Greater Western New York Report to uncover the truth!
In the first half of the show, host Chris Carosa interviews Chris DiCesare, Geneseo ’86 alum and author of The Ghost Boy of Erie Hall. Relocating from Hudson Valley, DiCesare experienced paranormal terror in Erie Hall sophomore year—whispers calling his name, full-bodied apparitions by the stereo. With friends, he documented EVPs, guided by a psychology professor, ruling out pranks or hysteria.
In the second half, DiCesare shares the haunting’s national spotlight on Netflix’s series, premiering October 7, 2025. Filmed at RIT and Toronto, the cerebral retelling emphasizes friendship and growth. A watch party at Geneseo featured Q&A, book signings, and a Ghost Boy sub.
