Louise Wadsworth & Gretchen Hanchett on the State of Greater Western New York Report – March 4, 2021

This episode of the State of Greater Western New York Report explores how small locally owned businesses make their community vibrant.

Louise Wadsworth, Livingston County Downtown Coordinator shares with us what small businesses mean to their community, She then highlights a few programs Livingston County offers specifically for local businesses. Finally, she suggests ways locally owned businesses in other counties can find similar hometown programs.

In the second segment, Gretchen Hanchett, Executive Director of the Greater Allegany County Chamber of Commerce tells the same story from the point of view of small businesses. After providing several examples of what small businesses have done to support their communities, she outlines ways the Chamber helps businesses engage with their communities. She closes by explaining how small businesses, in general, can seek to find ways to support their own communities.
